Greetings from the Pikes Peak Woodturners (PPWT) club, serving the Colorado Springs, El Paso County area. Our club has been affiliated of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) since 1988, and we are one of the oldest organizations dedicated to woodturning.

We meet the first Friday of every month, at the Bemis School of Art — upstairs classroom, 818 Pelham Place, Colorado Springs

Our meetings run from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, and include a demonstration, instant gallery and raffle. Please check the Demo schedule on this website, or the current newsletter, for specific meeting details.

Our mission of the PPWT is to further the art and craft of woodturning in all its forms though education, community outreach and a shared sense of the beauty of woodturning. Our turners encourage the development of skills and techniques that help interested artists achieve their potential.

June 1st demo: Scott’s been keeping the topic for the June demo under wraps. Rumor has it Scott might be the presenter. Guess you will just have to attend the meeting to find out.

The President’s challenge for June is a four tiered one from Jason Clark’s demo on offset spiral turning.

1 point – turn an offset piece,
2 points – turn an offset spiral piece
3 points – turn an offset spiral box,
4 points – turn an offset spiral item that write

The display setup up in Penrose Library has generated a lot of interest. Robert plans to mix it up a bit on Saturday. If you have items you’d like to display, you can either bring them to the meeting or show up on Saturday. Robert will have times and meeting location on Friday evening.
